Kacee Deener is the Acting Deputy Director of the Office of Science Policy in EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) which integrates, coordinates, and communicates scientific and technical information and advice across EPA's programs, regions, and with external parties. She has more than 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors spanning the intersection of science, research, policy, and communication. Kacee was previously a Senior Science Advisor to ORD’s Deputy Assistant Administrator, where she provided science and policy advice on high profile cross-agency issues, including regulatory and policy initiatives; interagency policy efforts; risk communication; and research directions. In this role, she helped solidify EPA’s role as a public health agency by establishing partnerships with public health organizations. Kacee formerly served as Deputy Associate Director for Chemicals and Public Health at the White House Council on Environmental Quality and as Director of Communications and Regulatory Support for EPA’s National Center for Environmental Assessment.
