Description

Environmental public health risk communication is critical to keeping the public informed of harmful exposures to contaminants. This interactive case study will provide attendees a background on communicating the risks of environmental contaminants and to practice developing plans and key messages for communication with the public and stakeholders. Using a hypothetical case study with various stages of knowledge of a contaminate released in the environment, attendees will develop communication strategies and messages. The session will conclude with expert panel presentations on real-world examples of approaches and best practices for developing risk communications for environmental contaminants and a panel Q&A.
