Dr. Valerie Zartarian is a senior research physical scientist in EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Exposure Research Laboratory. Since joining EPA in 1998, her research has focused on developing, applying, and providing human exposure science, models, and tools to inform decisions for improving environmental public health. Dr. Zartarian has published over 50 journal articles, technical reports, and book chapters, and presented at numerous external scientific peer reviews and conferences. Dr. Zartarian holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in environmental engineering and science from Stanford University, and a B.S. from Princeton University in civil engineering/water resources. Currently she is the EPA/ORD executive lead for Pb science, and the EPA co-chair of the inter-Federal agencies Pb research workgroup.
