Description

Lead (Pb) is a naturally occurring element that is also a toxic environmental contaminant with no known safe level of exposure in children. Significant progress has been made in reducing Pb in the environment, but human exposure remains a public health priority in the U.S. and beyond. To effectively prevent and mitigate Pb exposures, the public health community needs to be able to identify high exposure locations. Various approaches, each with their unique challenges, exist for identifying Pb exposure locations, each with their unique challenges. Several approaches will be explored and a panel discussion will focus on the challenges with using each approach.
