EKU received a grant from HUD to design and employ a symposium for EHS practitioners. Through the planning process we realized healthy housing encompasses numerous aspects of environmental health. The symposium focused on several aspects of healthy housing (i.e. IAQ, vector control, radon, aquatic safety and health, and onsite wastewater disposal). The speakers will discuss how to promote environmental health visibility in communities through hosting an annual symposium, increase interpersonal relationships when addressing emerging and existing environmental health issues, and foster community engagement.
