The United States is currently in the midst of several outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases: hepatitis A and measles. This presentation will provide a high-level overview of how vaccines work and the benefit of herd immunity, vaccine policy and legislation in the United States, and the status of current vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks
