Teaching Adult Learners; Talk With Me – developing training moments that resonate The standard course training agenda for adults consists of a PowerPoint presentation filled with text, and an instructor reading the slides, or talking over the slides forcing the learning to listen or read, but not do both. Today's learning moments are often for the ease of the instructor. The job of the participant is to keep up and try to filter in as much information as possible. Reaching today's adult learner must begin by drawing the participant into the process to engage their curiosity and to help them determine why the information is important or relevant.
