How prepared is your team to respond to a foodborne illness outbreak? Outbreaks move quickly and a strong team with clear communication is vital. Last year the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) found itself with many new faces in its Foodborne Illness Taskforce and many old, irrelevant policies. In this session, learn how a local health department dug in, made change, and came out stronger. Since the implemented changes, SNHD has improved the time of response, increased the number of outbreaks reported to NEARS with contributing factors, and successfully worked a norovirus outbreak involving over 300 cases.
