Rachel is the Director of Environmental Health & Sustainability for the City of Plano, Texas. She began her career in environmental health in 1997 in San Joaquin County, California and followed that with a 13 year stint in rural Arizona. She joined the City of Plano in 2015 and oversees food safety, swimming pool sanitation, stormwater quality, vector control, public nuisance complaints, environmental education, and sustainability programs. She is a member of NEHA, NACCHO, AFDO, Texas Environmental Health Association, and the Texas Association of Municipal Health Officials. Rachel earned a B.A. in Biology from Point Loma Nazarene University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Public Administration from Columbia Southern University. She is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (NEHA, CA) and Registered Sanitarian (AZ, TX).
