Illicit fentanyl activities cause unique contamination incidents and risk to law enforcement, first responders, remediation contractors, and the public. This panel presentation will provide an overview of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's role in providing technical support to local, tribal, and statue authorities in a fentanyl response, and will contain the results from research initiated to fill gaps in estimating the toxicity/risk, decontamination options, and sampling and analysis capabilities for fentanyl, its analogs and derivatives.
