Ron Lund has been working in the Salt Lake County Health Department’s Environmental Health Division for the past eighteen years. He is the Division’s Enforcement and Training Coordinator and works on the after-hours emergency response team. He has been a part of the team for 12 years. He works closely with the County’s Criminal Investigator, D.A.’s office and other agencies to assist with Environmental Health investigations. He has developed State Rules, County Ordinances and Health Department Regulations related to Environmental Health. He has experience in many environmental health fields including: food protection, drinking water, wastewater, e-cigarettes, storm water, pollution prevention education, household hazardous waste, housing, permitted facilities, chemically contaminated properties (meth) and other programs. He obtained his Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Utah, is a Licensed Environmental Health Scientist and a HAZMAT Technician.

He enjoys time spent on the emergency response team, including; working with other agencies to solve problems, conducting investigations, taking enforcement actions related to Clean Water Act violations, Health Regulations, and State Rule. He educates industry and the public about environmental health and environmental crimes. A highlight of his career is the Health Department’s food inspections web page that scores inspections and provides inspection reports online.

Ron is an avid cyclist and soccer player. He enjoys playing games and watching movies with his two daughters, playing soccer, cars, and holding NERF Wars in the basement with his boys. His twin boys are eight and other son, six, thinks they are triplets and keep him laughing. He enjoys dutch oven cooking, puzzles, playing games, and watching movies with his wife.
