Ki Straughn, RS, Environmental Health Services Supervisor has almost 30 years of experience in various EH programs starting her career at Snohomish Health District Water and Wastewater Program for over 11 years specializing in repair designs and grant programs which focused on prevention of septic system failures. She then returned to the Food Program where her language and cultural competency skills were needed with Korean and other Asian operated food facilities. While in the Food Program, she taught and developed the Managers Certification Course as the lead trainer and project manager for the FDA Retail Program Standards. Ki was instrumental in securing NACCHO Mentorship and multiple AFDO grants as well as regional trainings for the Pacific Northwest including Epi-Ready Training and Special Processes courses. Ki is currently at Public Health – Seattle & King County and continues her work with the Retail Program Standards where she is involved with the AFDO Grants and Verification Audits as well as the 6th and 7th Cohort NACCHO Mentorship Program. Ki has an EH Bachelor of Science from University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine.
