Description

This presentation describes the use of a Hierarchical Bayesian Model (incorporating air pollution monitor measurements, air quality model predictions, and satellite estimates of pollution) to develop five estimated concentration surfaces to assess the effect of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on asthma, heart failure, and myocardial infarction hospitalizations and emergency room visits in Baltimore Maryland during 2004 - 2006. This is a follow-up (Part 2) of a similar study accomplished in the New York City metropolitan area for the same time period.
