Dr. Junu Shrestha is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Dr. Shrestha completed her Doctor of Education degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018. My research interests are environmental health, geographic information system, environmental toxicology, immunology, water quality, environmental contaminants especially heavy metal pollution, and nitrates in drinking water. I have done research on long-term low dose impact of arsenic in human health, vulnerability mapping of nitrate in groundwater of Black Hawk County, Iowa, the impact of low dose nitrite stress on human mononuclear cells and comparing contaminated sites with various environmental health outcomes.
