Dr. Olinger’s primary role is as a Principal Science Advisor, strategist, and technology assessment manager assisting with MRIGlobal’s science mission in deployed field operations. He advises as a subject matter expert in virology and immunology with an emphasis with viral hemorrhagic fevers. He has demonstrated tenacity with over 23 years’ experience coordinating, executing, and analyzing in vitro and in vivo studies conducted in complex BSL2, BSL3, and BSL4 laboratories with high hazard human and animal pathogens. Dr. Olinger was an integral member and principal investigator of efforts to utilize immunotherapy against VHFV, including the development of ZMapp. Dr. Olinger has extensive field experience where he served as a member, science leader coordinating diagnostic, serological and other clinical assays to monitor patients during and after outbreaks. He has served on domestic and international government and NGOs as an SME for these topics and as a reviewer for infectious diseases and safety training research.
