Bridget Kerner, MS joined NACCHO as Program Analyst on the Health Community Design team in May 2015. She is currently a Senior Program Analyst on the Environmental Health team. Ms. Kerner’s responsibilities include supporting local health department demonstration sites through funding, training, and technical assistance to implement health impact assessments (HIAs) and Health in All Policies (HiAP) initiatives. Ms. Kerner also works on collaborative environmental health projects focused on the safe siting of early care and education facilities, land use planning and creative placemaking, active transportation, and community water fluoridation. Before joining NACCHO, Ms. Kerner was a Research Assistant supporting a National Science Foundation EPSCoR grant titled “Adapting Socio-Ecological Systems to Climate Variability” at Oklahoma State University. Specifically, she worked with the 39 federally recognized Tribes across Oklahoma to document the impacts of climate change on tribal communities and develop adaptation strategies. Ms. Kerner has a BA in Environmental Studies from Salisbury University, an MS in Sociology from Oklahoma State University, and is currently a doctoral student in the Urban and Regional Planning and Design program at the University of Maryland.
